Talk from the local net-Disaster timeline:
- Sat. Oct. 14, 2006 1:27 pm: POWER BACK ON in the stick's.....Thank fkg LUCY..Cracked a beer and came on here first thing. I'm not one to take thing's for granted but I was losing it last night. I feel for the people who may be out for as much as 9 day's. Sleeping bags are the greatest thing in the world...
- Sat. Oct. 14, 2006 6:37 pm: Power came back on in my part of Depew around 9:30 last night....lost it thursday nite around 8pm. Just found out that the French and Transit area is back on as of 7:00 tonight. I was in Kaisertown when the storm it....total disaster area over there, not sure if they got power yet....we were told tuesday.
- Sat. Oct. 14, 2006 7:34 pm: We just got power on here in Hamburg/O.P area by bills stadium. We went out thursday night came on today...we are very lucky.
- Sat. Oct. 14, 2006 11:18 pm: We got our power back tonight in the Byron area (genesee county) around 7:35pm. After much rejoicing, we settled in to celebrate by eating dinner while transfixed to the idiot box. A little after 8pm the lights flickered on and off, went to brownout, then went off again.....turns out some guy ran his car into a pole and took out all the power in town again. What are the chances!? We finally got it back for good around 10pm.
- Sun. Oct. 15, 2006 12:09 am: Power was back up on my street in NT about 3pm Saturday from being out on Thursday about 9pm. Half a block over is still out as I type this now. My home computer took a major hit, hopefully it only took out the power supply. Mother Nature gave us a major slap on Thursday and she ate some of her own(trees) in the process. I liked the phrase the Buff News used... The Columbus Day Massacre.
Sun. Oct. 15, 2006 12:20 am: Fired up the ol' generator today and tailgated in my yard....if the electric isn't on by mid week I think I want some bands to come to my neighborhood and have a "restore the + and -'s" show in my driveway.
Sun. Oct. 15, 2006 6:37 am: Power is still out in my hood. I hear it's getting pretty nasty at some of the gas stations.
