Talk from the local net-Price gouging:
-I almost paid double for my generator from Meyers RV in Hamburg. I was in a pinch and got what I could. For the watts it was a good price, if it was a Briggs & Stratton or a Troy Built, but it wasn't. It is some imported generator. I paid $1,379.00 plus tax. I went to manufacturer's website it was $899.99 retail on sale for $699.99.
-Channel 7 News got 10 complaints about price gouging at Meyers RV. They said they're calling Meyers RV for comment.
-My friend called Home Depot at Walden/Harlem, they said they had 14 generators left....he got there & they were gone...then he was walking out & some jerk said..."need a generator?".... he bought 7 of them, and was out in the parking lot selling them for $150.00 more than he paid for them.... because of my friends need to pump his finished basement out...he bought one.
-I wanna know why it's going to cost 150 MILLION dollars to grind up a bunch of branches. Here's your price gouger... the politicians. You can buy a really nice chipper/shredder for 600 bucks. For a hundred fifty million bucks, you could buy 250 THOUSAND of them. That's one for every 4 people in Erie County. Erie county couldn't make a grilled cheese sandwich for under a million bucks.
-Don't ask what a government toilet seat will run ya...
-Maybe Amherst town Supervisor Dr. Satish Mohan should be writing the disaster checks.
